The girls next to me were SO supportive

I have to say that I was pretty scared when the earthquake hit Christchurch. At first didn’t know what was happening. My bed was shaking and lurching and it was pitch dark (by the time I opened my eyes!) and I was disoriented. But after a few seconds I was wide awake and thought, “OMG this must be an earthquake!” The noise was scary. But it was over in a few seconds. I went to my door and the girls in the next rooms were all in the corridor. They were so reassuring. I think all of them had been through quakes before. (The complete Mainland education?) They were not alarmed. We quickly filed down the stairs and outside and the others were there to. Everyone was so helpful and good to everyone else. I’m glad I had friends around me that morning. Called home and told them I was fine. And I was!
