Bishop held up magnificently in the shake!
The earthquake was very strong, here in Christchurch. I have felt a few in my day, on the West Coast, where they are quite common. (And Danny from Wellington said he’s the same.) I didn’t think the rocking was going to stop. My laptop sat like a rock on my desk, but some of my textbooks slid off and in the darkness I could hear my pens scattering on the floor. But good old Bishop Julius — it all held together! No damage to the buildings! And the staff were fantastic. Everyone looked after each other as the shakes kept coming during the morning.
I really simply just don’t think that it happened! We was just in Christchurch. Such a beautiful town. Those poor folks. I really could not believe that this transpired to these citizens just as before. What on earth is any individual expected to do in a situation similar to this?
